I’ve had the honor of being Kylie’s official photographer and her as my main model. Kylie’s one of the reasons why I have created a reputation as an exemplary photographer, mostly due to trial and error and practicing with her (and many other wonderful models and friends). My biggest goal is to help her become a known model in Southeast Asia and Australia. I believe she has the photogenic quality, genuine personality, and contagious smile that could sell a special niche product line. Her face is already plastered all over the web and is one of the known faces in the collegiate world. She’s also part-Greek which translates very well photographically in the Oceania market 🙂

After a serious trial by fire the past month or so, I think I finally figured my life out . Hmmmm, strange it seems that I would say that. As a very late bloomer, I definitely took the time, wandering aimlessly at times, until I found that little bitty dirt road leading to where I was supposed to be 20 years ago.
I’m talking about two things that mean the most to me – creative pursuit and…..love. My childhood dream and goal is to become a music producer. HECK, why not? I have all the studio equipment and can play lots of instruments. I’ve been playing music most of my life and have produced lots of stuff for other people. And due to my film/photography background, I can also create their music videos and photograph their promotional materials. The all in one producer!!!! WOOOHOOO – that’s me!!! Now, I just need to find the most amazing artist that can match a Rihanna or Lady Gaga. So far, I am working with a couple of good ones….one more would sum it all up completely.
In matters of the heart, that’s for another day 🙂 But what I learned from this ephiphany month is the one thing that has eluded me my entire life until recently. I just needed to learn to love myself. I freely give that to the WHOLE PLANET anyway. So why not myself, right? Once that was accomplished, everything became super clear to me. So is that the secret to life? Hmmmmm…

I had to start from scratch with most of the things in my life. It’s good to be able to have a chance like that…..at least that’s how I would like to look at things. Here are stuff from fortune cookies lately 🙂
Nothing can keep you from reaching your goals. Do it!
Do not wait for others to open the right doors for you.
Focus on your long-term goal Don’t hesitate to act now.
The time is always right to do what is right.
You could prosper in the field of entertainment.

The other night, it was impressed upon my mind the importance of delegation when it comes to huge projects and goals. I pondered upon that word “delegation” for several hours, thinking that it was the lack of that particular skill that sometimes makes some projects fall short. I reviewed all the things I’ve done in the past and I realized that I actually delegate things quite a bit.
I dug a little deeper and found one important factor that made the lightbulb above my head go bling (with my friend Aly’s help)!!! What’s even more vital than delegation is DRIVING FORCE. Each project, goal or anything that has to deal with ambition requires a driving force behind it to be accomplished properly. Call it whatever you wish – leadership, passion, soul, hunger, motivating factor.
Furthermore, I realized that most people can successfully only be the driving force of one goal at a time….and when I mean goal, I mean something that is an absolutely incredible goal. For instance – Steve Jobs = Apple. Larry Ellison = Oracle. Bill Gates = Microsoft….and at a much smaller scale, Joe Schmoe = Joe Schmoe’s very successful Craw Fish Diner. The magnitude of success is of course determined by that person’s vision, happiness , destiny and resources. We can’t all be a Larry Page of Google. I hope I didn’t contradict myself here…..the term success or incredible is relative. Plus, if there is more than one person involved as the driving force, being united is critical.
I looked at the things I’m working on and was appalled….I mean downright SHOCKED to find out that I’m the driving force behind not one, but 5 major projects. After vomiting for a few minutes…looks like I’m back to the drawing board. I agonizingly and reluctantly let go of some things while assigning the “driving force” title away to others. First, I needed someone with a solid knack of getting things done…a natural from birth, yet someone who is fresh, relatively unproven, very driven and who already believes in the project. Task #1: I asked Dani to be the heart, mind, soul, and face / CEO of beginningfilmmaker.com. If there is a person who can potentially turn coal into diamond, it would be her. Now I need her more than ever to figure that all out. How to make it work? ….. That’s to be determined!!!! But she may have saved me from a potential heart attack.
What I have on my wall is Steve Jobs’ Commencement address given at Stanford University. In essence, what he said is summarized as follows: “…the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it.” He also mentioned that if one looks back at the past, that person can see certain events as dots in their lives. Connect the dots and life becomes miraculous. Everything makes sense.
I already know what I love to do, and that is creating music. I need to give my full dedication and effort to make that work. Me and my talented music partner in crime Wendy Girl are already the driving force(s) behind that goal. We know it, we want it, we are passionate about it, and there’s no way it will not succeed. It’s inevitable. While others, such as Dani, may be at the beginning of the search for that holy grail of passion…..and I know someday significant events will clearly manifest themselves in a big way for talented people like her. And I can’t wait to find out how I’ll be privileged enough to be part of the “dots” in another person’s life.

I’ve always believed that rainbows are a sign of great things to come. This past weekend, Utah has seen an incredible amount of thunderstorms which we all needed. Lightning and thunder have a way of bringing so much beauty in nature – before, during and after the storm. I also believe that major turning point type events in a person’s life are like thunderstorms. Regardless of the outcome: before, during & after a major event is absolutely beautiful at so many levels. Joy, heartache, stress, love, learn, growth….and most of all, LIFE. These are a few words I can think of after that type of experience in a person’s life.
Which brings me to my point. At the end of a major event in my life, I felt a deep inclination to reevaluate what I really wanted to do at this point. So, I dug up old plans, threw away existing ones and cleared up my schedule to open new avenues to explore. Somehow that gave my brain and heart that much needed clarity on the projects that I should be pursuing. Feeling that type of newness, passion and inner ephiphanies, I started writing music non-stop like I always do after an emotional turmoil. Music is what feeds my soul the most and I was able to compose 5 songs within a weekend – so wooo hooo!!!! Pat in the back for me 🙂 And I supposed this can only benefit my music goals with Wendy – HAHA!
Last night, I worked with Dani to get things rolling with www.beginningfilmmaker.com. Following an honest SWOT analysis of the venture, I feel like we really have something good to work on. I’m very lucky to be so close to such a smart girl, extremely wise, and giver of the best advice on life.
Afterwards, I talked and hung out with a dear friend and a cool mutual friend. A good and honest conversation have done wonders, and I feel like the resolution I was looking for from a recent falling out has come full circle. I think that I can finally move on to the future amazing projects I’ve been planning on for a while.
